Wii Sports: Bowling Power Throws Perfect 890

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Because so many people thought my 890 was fraudulent and claimed it wasn’t “truly perfect” because of the bumper rail trick, I video’ed a “truly perfect” rendition.

The camera battery died on the last frame before the final score came up, but you see all the pins fall down and it does show that “91 pins” fell down.

And fantastically enough, youtube’s transcoding unsync’ed the audio, and clipped off a second or so from the end, so the already-short run just got shorter.

How would you create an inexpensive bowling activity for elementary aged kids?

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Hi. I was nominated for Homeroom Mom, my son is in Kindergarten.. We are responsible for creating a Bowling activity for the elementary school and we need ideas on how to construct one without spending much money. Unfortunately not many parents are able to help, so it will just be a few of us. Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks so much and please wish me luck ;)

I do preschool so I know all about cheap and easy ways to make things lol…

Take some soda bottles or something like it and a ball.

You can do anything you want on the bottles add weight, make designs for the bottles, use it as part of a lesson plan.

Simple things like this is why I love young children they don’t need much to be happy with.

I hope this has helped some with your question.

does anyone have any tips for bowling?

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

1. Take your time and do not rush your approach and shots.
2. Focus on hitting your targets (boards, dots and arrows).
3. Practice and concentration makes for a steady game.
4. Pick your bowling equipment carefully and don’t think that high performance equipment is better for all skill levels. Most beginners buy expensive pro quality stuff thinking it will make them better bowlers. A $75 Bowling ball works just as good as a $250 one. Depends on the bowler.
5. Build muscle memory when practicing by trying to copy your same armswing and hand release every time. That way, you will be able to deliver the ball and train your eyes/arm/hand to react the same way every shot.
6. Have fun and don’t torture yourself trying too hard to be good. I’d be more happier being lucky than good! Bad shots or game happen and we learn to improve ourselves from those moments.
7. Don’t try to copy the professional styles. Remember, they started out as amateurs and took years to fine tune to their body styles and comfort levels. If you manage to build your own bowling delivery and style, it’s yours and you built it from they way you feel comfortable bowling.

What is a good site to buy bowling shoes?

What is a good site to buy bowling shoes?
Not looking for anything way professional.
And what is the size difference between shoes and bowling shoes? Half size smaller?

Check Bowling.com, bowlersparadise.com or bowlingball.com. Anyways, the Dexter brand is basically the same size you wear for street shoes. Other brands, just ask the online retailers about sizing because they could go 1/2 to a full size either larger or smaller. Good luck!
