Do I have everything for my new puppy?

I’m getting a puppy in a few days, and I would like you to review all the supplies that I have and make sure I didn’t forget anything. Also, if you have any suggestions about anything that would be useful.. that would be great! Thanks!

I have the following:
- Crate
- Bedding for Crate
- Blanket to cover Crate
- Baby Gates
- Food
- Water and Food Bowls
- Poopy Bags
- Puppy collar
- Walking Leash
- Leash for the backyard (use when doing business..15ft)
- Biscuits
- Stuffed dog toys
- Balls
- Chew toys
- Brush
- Toothbrush Kit
- Puppy Shampoo
- Puppy Grooming Spray
- Bell (To hang on door… rings when needed to go out)
- Vet Appointment
- Dog books

AND: Love and Care.

I am picking up an ID tag soon.
Jessika: Yep, I have a collar, though I wrote it on the list as Puppy collar, so that is why you might’ve missed it.

The puppy will be gated in the kitchen until potty trained. (not to worry, the kitchen is fairly large) So would you say I still need to get that Enzymatic Cleaner?

Good for you!
You seem very prepared and well researched.
One last thing I would suggest you remember to have with you at all times is patience.
Puppies need it, but they’re worth it.
Good luck with your new dog.

edit: also remember to puppy proof your house and/or yard and store away any rat poison, bug spray, etc. so that she can’t get to it.
here is a list of plants and foods that are toxic to dogs; be sure to avoid giving her these.

I love seeing people like you! You seem to have really thought about buying for your pup.
It looks like you have everything!
As you have got a vet appointment, I presume you know about injections. I also recommend Micro chipping your pup.

    Good luck and have fun.

I suppose you have the collar for the ID tag also? And you may get it’s nails clipped and get it treated for worms and fleas at the vet, but if not you’ll need some special nail grooming tools and medicine for fleas and such.

    Congrats!

You have just about everything except for puppy medicine just it case he gets sick or these tablets so no insects or mosquitos bite him but you should talk to a vet about that because i have a dog he has these tablets to eat once a month but when you visit your vet with your vet when your puppy is strong the vet would give you the puppy medicine when the vet thinks its the right time SO GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NEW PUPPY =D

It is great for helping clean up messes, and a MUST HAVE for potty training when cleaning up accidents in the house. it works GREAT, and has saved our carpet from the house training of 3 puppies, and works with barf and stuff too.
remember, don’t give them too many hard things to chew on like chew toys until they have adult teeth in!
    good luck! congrats!

You might want newspapers for the kitchen floor, if he isn’t potty trained. You might need a cable and a good tie out stake for the back yard so you don’t have to stand their–they like privacy, and appreciate it when you keep your distance when they are dooing thier business–they like to sniff around. That’ll be neat if he rings the bell–my cockapoo said: Out side! When my dogs are little, I just keep them in a box on it’s side, or cut down, in the kitchen. I can wash the puppy blanket, and don’t want to mess with a crate and bedding. I never monkey with portable kennels, either. Sounds like you’ve got lots of stuff.

Maybe a training book and clicker? Its never to early to start training and should be a part of the daily schedule worked into such activities as grooming.

If you plan to groom the puppy yourself, some puppy nail clippers might be needed. Cotton balls to clean ears and stuff while bathing. Do research before microchipping, though a great idea, all scanners are not universal. Sounds like you’re all set. Good luck.

It sounds as if you have everything for getting a puppy. It’s obvious that you want to take really good care of your puppy and will be a great owner.
The only thing I could suggest is to have a blow dryer, for when you bathe the puppy. Just put it on a low setting and it will help dry your dog a lot faster. Also, it will help when you are trying to brush the puppy after a bath and drying their hair.
Also, when you take your dog to the vet, ask if they could micro-chip them, just in case the dog ever gets lost, or anything, so that this micro-chip will be in your dog and any vet in the country could scan it and know that the dog’s owner is you. It does not cost much and is worth it.
Also, you will need either puppy pee pads or you can use newspaper, to put down so that you can train your dog to use them in case they can’t hold it if they can’t get outside in time, or if you are not at home, they will know to use the pee pads or newspaper to use the bathroom on if they can’t hold it until you get home.
You are a very caring person, because you are making sure to be prepared so that your puppy has everything it will need to be a happy and healthy dog. Best of luck with your puppy. Hope I helped.
