Is there a way to remove gouges from bowling balls?

I got a new Bowling balls not too long ago, and as I was polishing it I noticed I had a little gouge in it, I doubt it has affected me game at all, but I was just wondering if there was a way to get it out.

There are different things you can do. If its not in the track area Its not important to fix it unless you don’t like seeing it Then you can have the person in the pro shop fill and sand it down. But be careful if you let him just sand it. It will create a flat spot and the ball will go thump thump down the lane if any of your track is near it. No another thing you can have the ball resurfaced ant that way it takes the same amount off the ball all the way around and won’t create a flat spot. If its deep don’t have them take it all out or the ball will be small.

If it’s not in the track area of the ball (the part of the ball that comes in contact with the lane), then there’s nothing that you really need to do- it won’t affect anything. If it is, though, take it in to your pro shop- they can sand out the rough edges, and if need be, fill it.

I bowl a lot and average over 220 and this is what I would do. Leave it alone if its not in the track or have the pro shop fill it and sand it
