HELP!!!! I’ve been accused of stealing TIPS in my workplace… WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Seriously, I’ve just started working at a well known pizza chain (that sells overpriced pizzas!) and I was on my 2nd week of training. I was accused of stealing £3.00 worth of tips by a senior waitress who is the sister of the manager! The Manager spoke to me and searched me (she did not find anything!)
I was so shocked and upset that I almost cried. Apparently I stole £1 of tip on one table and they planted £2 on a tip bowl (being clumsy, I dropped it while clearing the table) I tried to look for it but I could not find it (DAMN floorboards!) I was proper shaking and scared! (seriously to lose a job because of £3?!?!?!) and the embarasment of it (What to go to jail over £3)
The manager talked to me and said that since she does not have proof she will give me a warning and if it happens again it will be gross misconduct. She made me leave early (I was just speachless that I left!)
I really want to keep the job (just because it is hard to get a job nowadays) but I do not know what to do now…
I feel so embarrassed that I got accused of stealing and I feel upset that they could accuse me of something like that.. that they had to plant tip money to try to catch me out!
I feel so bad about it… I have a week’s holiday booked (which is a good thing) I don’t know if I should go back though…
I am just worried about how I will be treated in that job (seriously I just do not want the hassel!) Ive had enough bullying in the workplace and racial discrimination harrasment in the workplace for this year to go through that again
But if I don’t go back will it look like as if I was guilty of stealing the money?
HELP!!!! What should I do!??!

I think you should go back, but search for another job. It doesn’t help that the manager and the waitress are related. That is automatic favoritism right there. Perhaps you should report them to corporate. Most chain restaurants do not allow family to work together for that reason. For all you know that server could have been stiffed from that table and just assumed someone stole it. I’ve seen that happen a lot.
