I have balls designed for hooking and it took me a while to get the throw down. I kind of scratched my ball(not severely). I think it might affect my game.
Is there a way to remove scratches? Also roughly how much would it cost?
Since the entire coverstock material reaches all the way through to the core, any repair, buffing out or filling in will not affect the way the bowling ball will react at all.
It actually does not matter if the ball damage occurs on the track because if it’s buffed out, polished or sanded to bring it back to "like new" appearance, it will not alter or change the way you bowl because it will track on the same exact spot anyways on the ball…..
I’ve had minor chips, dents, gouges and scratches occur on the track area of my Bowling balls throughout the years during many league nights, amateur tournaments and even during a PBA national tour event I bowled in, and had no problems with the damage at all.
Your pro shop will take care of it, and if you did not purchase it there, they will not charge you for the repair, especially if you bowl league in that house. If they do, it’s going to cost between $5-$10.
Good luck!
