I am a conventional bowler, but I am taking the summer to improve my game. I just got a brand new Tropical Storm and my proshop guy suggested i try fingertip style. Is there any suggestions that anyone may have for helping be to better myself while using this technique. I started practicing last night and am dead tired. Please help!
i was gonna say it would wear your butte out, your now carrying or supporting the ball in stead of slinging it. my friend took off from competing for 3 weeks, bowl 2- 3 games 2 days a week then go for 3-4 and you will adjust. it has really improved his style and form and his average is up 23 pins so far he uses an edge……………….

Just keep your armswing in rhythm with your steps, keep your hand behind the ball right before release, followthrough after release and don’t spin it or force a hook while delivering it onto the lane. It will not go anywhere if you throw a "spinner".
For someone changing your grip from conventional to a fingertip style drilling, I would think that at first, a relaxed or semi-fingertip grip would be the best and most comfortable because you will not have to stretch your hand more than you need, and you still will be able to hook the ball properly.
Most people changing grips find that hand problems start with using a full fingertip immediately after changing from conventional because it’s shocking to your ligaments and muscles that your hand has to stretch more to hold the bowling ball. If you have discomfort, try using a wrist support to avoid muscle pain or tendonitis.
Good luck!
