Ten Pin Bowling – Any Tips??

Hey, i’m going Bowling for a work do and dont want to embarras myself – Has anyone got any tips? Last time I went I scored alot of gutter balls and fell over alot.

Thanks

Don’t worry if you don’t know how to score, most alleys do this automatically.
First, remember the most important thing- do EXACTLY the same motion every time.
Now aim the ball so that if you are right handed, the ball hits the head pin, then the three (right side just behind the head pin), and push through the five pin. This headpin-threepin- and 5 pin push is known as the "Pocket"

Stand with the left big toe on the center dot. Push out and step with the right foot. Advance with the left while letting the ball fall. Advance with the right foot (ball is farthest back) and DO NOT FORCE THE THROW. Let the ball do all the work. Your right hand should end up in front of your face with arm extended. The thumb is at 11 oclock and the fore finger at 1 oclock. This follow through is very important. Just guide the ball so that it lands on the third arrow on the right. Watch where the ball goes. The first ball is the "strike ball" Make adjustments by moving left or right (board adjustment) or angle left or right so that your next strike ball hits the pocket.

When throwing the second ball, aim for the largest clusters.
Dont worry about fancy hooks. If you’re throw is consistant, it should curve all by itself.

Oh, THE MOST important thing is to have fun. and the only thing that will help is not higher scores but more beer.

4 step approach..right arm bowler starts right foot. Release ball on the 4th step. Good gentle backswing with a full straight follow through.

    Watch this..it’s not me don’t worry…

Bowl by taking a few steps forward while bringing the ball back and releasing it forward again. Do this in a smooth, swift motion. Watch how everybody else does it. Get a ball with right weight and comfortable sized finger holes.
Most of all, if you do really suck at it no matter how hard you try, don’t get upset. Sometimes people get really snippy and mad when they’re doing poorly at bowling, and it’s no fun to play with someone like that. Some people there may even give you tips, take them!
