I was looking at Brunswick.com and found that they have different rating on Bowling balls.
What does the "Length, Breakpoint shape, Flare potential, and RG-Average" mean?
All of these details are very technical terms for Bowling Balls and really the only one that will matter is the length and breakpoint shape if you are on a normal house shot. Many of these specs are for people bowling on sport conditions that need to know EXCATLY what the ball is going to do before they purchase it. The legnth is how far the ball will go down that lane before it begins to hook. For brunswick….the fury pearl is something will long length and a blastzone has a shorter legnth and hooks earlier. A longer ball will hook later and have more back end hook at the end of the lane. Break point is about the same thing…the fury will have more of a sharp angular breakpoint while the blastzone will have more of an arch.
If your looking into buying a ball, go into your nearest pro shop and have them take a look at how you bowl to find the right ball for you. Make sure to watch out for the $200 ball because you probably wont need it.
