I want to buy my own, fitted bowling ball. I’ve heard that house balls are made of plastic, and I should get a better quality ball if I want to improve my hooking. I also want to avoid breaking the bank when buying this ball as bowling is my only inexpensive hobby.
If you’re going to get a bowling ball, don’t go for the cheap plastic ones like they have at the Bowling alleys. Go for a nice ball, a bag and definitely get your own pair of shoes. If you don’t want to spend too much, you can go to a local Sports Authority or Dick’s Sports and pick up something in your price range ($80-$200) and they can drill the holes for you. But I would recommend going to the bowling alley‘s pro shop and talk to the professional behind the counter. He/she can recommend a ball for your level and in your price range. I’m sure they will appreciate your business and they will treat you better and give you better tips on how to improve your game. You may even get a discount for buying everything from them. But if you want to really save, just go to Sports Authority/Dick’s to pick up a basic pair of shoes and the bag.
