Why do people at Ten Pin Bowling polish there bowling balls before a game and while Bowling in a game?
I dont polish my ball and I am wondering if I shud,im wondering if it will make and difference to my bowling at all.

Only time I buff the ball off is when I’m bowling in a PBA Experience league or tournament with a heavy oil pattern. When that happens, the ball track is highly visible and having that oil on the ball every shot will definitely get on your hand and your deliveries will be affected by loss of grip.

During practice on regular house conditions or a normal house league (low to medium oil), I can go through an entire session without wiping it off the ball because not much collects on it.

Most people that are not really experienced in bowling or trying to emulate professional bowlers just wipe their Bowling Balls after every shot for show even though light oil lane conditions don’t even leave visible amounts of oil on the ball.
